DeafNation came to Austin, Texas for the second DeafNation expo of the 2013 spring season. Over 3,400 people gathered from the surrounding areas to tour 74 booths. Local businesses, vendors, technology companies, and entertainers all provided expo attendees with a wonderful experience that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
Guests were treated to entertainment on a stage set up in the Expo hall. We had some amazing presentations and stage shows: Nina Solovyeva (magic performance), Deaf Pilots Association (Deaf Eagles presentation), Cindy Plue (Multicultural Deaf Journey presentation). These kept our attendees engaged and excited. Companies raffled off prizes, and many people went home with goodies that they either won or purchased. UFC fighter Matt Hamill also made an appearance, signing autographs and posing for pictures all day.
