Joel takes us on a journey inside 21st century Tibet and shows us the extraordinary juxtaposition of the ancient traditions and contemporary lives of Tibetans. Regardless of its political history, the beauty of Tibet is phenomenal with its breathtaking landscape of the Himalayas and Tibetan Buddhism temples, such as the Potala Palace, and the famous yaks. Shot in Lhasa, the capital city, and the villages in the rural countryside, Joel meets Deaf Tibetans and their families and learns about the complexity of their lives and the richness of their culture through their stories.

  • Your Tibet experience is very impressive. Nobody can dare to go there unless she or he is determined to see there. People are very friendly in spite of living in the unfavorable, unfriendly or harsh environment. I’m surprised to see how the people are to live in the world’s most highest mountains and terrains with (much) less oxygen.
